UNION CITY — An award-winning program has made its way to Union City Elementary School.
Cher Troup, the elementary site coordinator of Community Unlimited, discovered the program at an after school conference where it was presented, and was very impressed.
The program, “The Walking Classroom,” is designed for elementary kids. The student will be able to “walk, listen and learn” by wearing a “WalkKit” — an audio device that is preloaded with a school year’s worth of educational podcasts.
The methodology behind the Walking Classroom is that students listen to curriculum-related podcasts on individual headsets while taking walks in groups during the regular school day.

Awesome idea! bet kids would love it here in Fla. IT is so nice most days and to be outside would do the students a world of good! I would love to see it happening!
