Third Grade Thrilled to Have TWC!

I am a third grade teacher with 25 lovely students. My class and I are thrilled to be participating in The Walking Classroom for the first time. We have gone for two walks so far and listened to the first two podcasts, Welcome to The Walking Classroom and Introduction to TWC.

I also shared the program with families during our Back-to-School Night. Parents are excited that their children will be able to get fresh air, go for a walk, and learn at the same time.

My class is especially excited about listening to anything history-related. Just last week I noticed so much of a difference in my students’ behavior on a day spent mostly in the room, sitting down, and a day where they went to PE and participated in The Walking Classroom. Needless to say, my students were a lot more focused and engaged in their work on the day they got more physical movement!

I look forward to continuing to incorporate this program this year and to weaving the podcast lessons into our curriculum.
