My students have had the best time with The Walking Classroom. They love being able to get out of their seats and enjoy some movement while still learning about ELA.
The ELA concepts presented in The Walking Classroom’s podcasts align perfectly with the Common Core Standards that the state of North Carolina has incorporated into our Standard Course of Study. It is so refreshing to be able to allow my students to get out of their seats and out of the classroom while still learning the things they are required to learn. We are so grateful to have this valuable resource to use in our classroom.
We live in a state that experiences all four seasons each year. We were able to go outside quite a few days in the fall and in the spring as well. However, we had a damp and cold winter, so on the days not conducive to outdoor walking, we simply walked the halls inside the school. With the students listening to the Walking Classroom lessons, there is no worry that they will talk or disrupt other classes!
