The Walking Classroom has been such a great addition to our classroom learning culture! Students are thrilled to see it on our schedule every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (when possible). Those days we usually start off in the morning by walking our routine around the campus before it gets too hot. We have learned so much language arts, science, history, and more!
This has been a great way to get moving and our blood flowing in the morning. It has been easy for students to establish a routine and follow all procedures because they genuinely look forward to learning through this program.
Since science has taken a back seat this year while trying to get students caught up after COVID-19, it is amazing to still be able to cover key topics using The Walking Classroom in this way. Some of our favorite podcasts have been Volcanoes (4-#76, STEM-#19, Complete-#138), Water Cycle (4-#30, STEM-#12, Complete-#148), and The Ocean Floor (5-#75, STEM-#27, Complete-#143). My students are able to connect with these concepts easily since we live in Hawaii!
Much mahalos,
