I am so excited to share the wonderful experiences I have had with my students since we have been using The Walking Classroom podcasts. My class participates every Monday, so my students are “stoked” when it is time to do the activity. What a great way to start our week out each and every week!
Each week we try to choose a topic that we have discussed or will be discussing to introduce it by using one of The Walking Classroom podcasts. The students especially love the interactive podcasts, but they also enjoy the others!
After walking for the duration of the podcast (which is usually enough time to go the perimeter of our school outside, weather permitting, two times), we have a discussion on the podcast to which we just listened. It is so great to have my students connect things they have heard in their classes (science, ELA, and social studies) to what we have listened to in The Walking Classroom.
I am so grateful that my students have this opportunity to learn a different way in a different environment. It is everything!
